Add a standalone countdown

Create a square timer overlay that starts from a hotkey and does not need a captured screen region.

Create the countdown

Menu bar iconOpen Config…MirrorsAdd Countdown
  1. Choose Add Countdown.A new square timer appears in the middle of the main screen, set to one minute by default.
  2. Set the starting time.Enter Hours, Minutes, Seconds, and Millis in the Countdown card.
  3. Record the Start / restart hotkey.Pressing this shortcut starts the timer. Press it again at any time to restart from the configured value.
  4. Choose whether it repeats.Enable Periodically restart when it reaches 0 for a continuous cycle. Leave it off for a one-shot timer that stops at zero.
  5. Arrange it in Edit Mode.Move and resize the square, then leave Edit Mode so it becomes click-through.
No Screen Recording required

A standalone countdown does not capture screen pixels. A plain-key hotkey may still require Input Monitoring.

Customize the timer

Use the Appearance card to change opacity, the Edit Mode name label, and border options. Rename or reset the timer from the same places used for other mirrors.
